We offer both flexible and highly efficient general pest control programs. Different clients have different needs when it comes to general pest control. That’s why we offer several programs to choose from to best fit each individual client’s situation.

Pests we get rid of

These services include:

  • Annual pest control (includes quarterly follow-ups)
  • Bi-monthly pest control
  • Quarterly pest control
  • Monthly pest control

After years of experience in the pest control industry, we find ‘one-time’ pest control treatments ineffective. As such, we do not recommend them. Pests are a part of life in the subtropical state of Florida. General pest control requires on-going maintenance because they are active year round. We find that our most effective general pest control programs are of the bi-monthly, annual, quarterly, and monthly varieties.

Harmful effects of pests

Pest control is necessary. Without it, we wouldn’t have enough produce to feed the massive population of our country. Pests such as fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, cockroaches, rats, mice, and others have spread disease to humans since the beginning of our existence. Termites destroy the structure of our homes costing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage. Squirrels chew on wires in the attic causes deadly home fires. Do you need more convincing? We’re dedicated, as a pest control company, to protect your home, health, and well-being.

Integrated pest management

Pest control is much more than just spraying. When the key values of integrated pest management are properly implemented, results will be more effective against pests. Following the integrated pest management approach is also safer for the environment. It’s a ‘common sense’ approach to pest control and prevention, utilizing strategies through understanding the biology of target pests.

Pest control for ants

Florida, in general, is overrun with many species of ants. What’s interesting is that most of them are invasive invaders. Unfortunately, invasive ants and are often more difficult to control than domestic ones. Since there are so many species of ants, there are different ways of treating them.

Having an understanding of each species biology helps in successful extermination. The biggest problem in treating ants is their ability to “bud”. Budding is a term which means that when these ants become exposed to certain pesticides they survive by spreading out to other areas of the house. This makes the infestation worse.

Some common ants we deal with are:

rover ants, ghost ants, pavement ants, Caribbean crazy ants,  carpenter ants, pharaoh ants, domestic fire ants, imported red fire ants, big-headed ants, Argentine ants, acrobat ants, and more.

Pest control for spiders

Just about everyone I know hates spiders. Ocala, Dunnellon, The Villages and the surrounding areas have several species of spiders we deal with on a day-to-day basis. Spiders aren’t instances, they’re actually arachnids and closely related to ticks, mites, and scorpions.

Although spiders are solitary by nature, their control is tricky due to the fact that they don’t drag their body along the floor as many insects do. These prevent them from becoming infected by certain pesticides. We implement several strategies in our control of spiders which are far more effective than simply spraying a common pesticide which isn’t effective against these pests.

Scorpion control and extermination

Not only are scorpions cousins of spiders, but they’re also treated in a similar fashion. Florida has a few different species of scorpion. The ones found in our range inflict a painful sting but luckily its bot much worse than a wasp sting. It is important to note that those with allergies to scorpion venom may have a serious reaction which may require hospitalization. This is why scorpion control in and around your home is so important.

Pest control for roaches

Roaches are short for cockroaches and that the only thing short about this filthy pests. Like ants, we have several species of cockroach throughout our range and most are invasive. We treat most cockroaches in a similar fashion but two species that stand out are the brown-banded cockroach and the German cockroach. These are the hardest roaches to eradicate. While brown banded roaches are currently covered under our general pest control, program, we treat German cockroaches in a separate service due to their highly prolific nature and difficulty in eradication.

Pest control for earwigs

Unlike myths and urban legends, earwigs don’t look to invade people’s ears while they’re sleeping. They do, however, ingest the inside of homes seeking damps areas. They are an ugly pest that may infest indoors under the right environmental conditions.

Although their back pinchers have a fearsome look, they don’t do much harm to humans.  They usually infest damp areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms, especially if there is an area where there is a lot of condensation, humidity, or a small leak. The source of the problem must also be addressed if one is to maintain complete control.

Silverfish control

A silverfish is a small wingless insect pest species best known for eating the bindings of books. Their name derives from the insect’s silvery light grayish and blue color combined with its fish-like appearance and movements. Silverfish are particularly fond of carbohydrates such as sugars and starches. They are nocturnal (meaning they are active at night) and can live two to eight years. Species of this insect are found pretty much everywhere in the state of Florida. They prefer moist areas with high humidity. In homes, they tend to inhabit basements, attics, sinks, bathtubs, and showers.

Pest prevention

Move logs, decorative stones, and firewood piles away from the foundation of your home. Clear an area next to the foundation free of mulch, dead leaves, and other materials that may hold moisture or obstruct the area. This dry zone should be between six and twelve inches. Trim back trees and shrubs that cause damp, and/or shady areas near the home. Make sure gutters and downspouts drain away from the foundation. Set automatic watering systems so they turn on in the morning so the landscape has time to dry during the day. Change outside light bulbs to yellow since white lights are more attractive to insects. If you have a basement, consider getting a dehumidifier.
